Delegates in the Diocese of Southern Virginia elected Rev. Herman “Holly” Hollerith IV the tenth bishop of Southern Virginia Saturday. According to an article in The Virginian-Pilot, Hollerith, 53, was chosen from six candidates at a meeting in Richmond. A majority of Episcopalian bishops and diocesan standing committees must now consent to his nomination.
The next bishop will be consecrated Feb. 13 in a ceremony at William and Mary Hall.
