Men’s Basketball: Tribe picked eighth in CAA

At today’s CAA Media Day event in Washington, D.C., the league released preseason rankings.

Virginia Commonwealth University is picked to finish first in the CAA, according to coaches, sports information directors and media. VCU senior point guard Eric Maynor is also the odds-on favorite to repeat as CAA player of the year.

The College of William and Mary is predicted to finish eighth in the conference. Last year, the Tribe finished fifth in the CAA and advanced to the CAA title game. Junior guard David Schneider was named a preseason honorable-mention All-CAA candidate.
