Continuing a very active week in the Virginia House of Delegates, a group of Republicans announced a package of 16 bills aimed at illegal immigrants. The bills include measures to revoke the drivers licenses of deportees, a bill requiring parents to disclose immigration status when enrolling their child in public schools, and blocking illegal immigrants from attending public colleges and Universities. Two of the measures would require police to ascertain the immigration status of anyone taken into police custody, regardless of eventual charges.
