BOV member charged with public intoxication
Board of Visitors member Laura L. Flippin was charged with public intoxication Friday.
Flippin, who was in town attending the fall BOV meetings, was cited on Stadium Drive at 12:45 a.m. and charged with a Class 4 misdemeanor. She spent more than 12 hours at the Virginia Peninsula Regional jail.
Police were called to the 700 block of Scotland Street for a woman who had fallen, and found Flippin unsteady and bleeding.
She is scheduled to appear in General District Court Oct. 17. State Senator Tommy Norment will serve as her lawyer.
