Can you do a cartoon showing how W&M Prof Grey Gundaker joined with Weather Underground Terrorist Bill Ayers earlier this year to attempt to deny American Veterans thier military honors? I am sure the Patriotic readers will get a huge laugh from it!Perhaps we ought to be
Perhaps we ought to be thanking our faculty for making a sacrifice to teach at this great institution? I agree that salaries at the College ought to be raised to be competitive, but find the characterization of W&M professors in this cartoon to be a disrespectful low blow. This cartoon presents the right message, but its suggestion that W&M faculty lack common sense seems to be a counterproductive and rude method to promote raising their salaries.
This cartoon doesn’t make
This cartoon doesn’t make current William and Mary professors look bad at all. What it’s saying is that if we don’t make salaries more competitive, we won’t be able to keep hiring professors on par with those we have now. The characterization of future faculty as dumb is in CONTRAST to the faculty who currently “make a sacrifice to teach at this great institution.” I think this is pretty clear from the heading of the cartoon.
