Danny Schmidt, an archaeologist at Historic Jamestowne, will lead a free public discussion about his recent findings at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Williamsburg Regional Library Theatre.
Schmidt, Jamestown Rediscovery Project’s senior staff archaeologist, and other archaeologists reached the bottom of a well most likely built in 1609 under the direction of Capt. John Smith. The well contained thousands of artifacts, including a 400-year-old slate tablet deposited after the well water went bad during the starving time of 1609 to 1610.

Last semester my schedule sucked. I had feminist theory in Morton at 9:30, then ten minutes to race over to Washington for my Thomas Hardy seminar. Ten minutes! Ten minutes to zoom across campus without looking like a crazy person! It was the worst. I always showed up to that English class huffing and puffing, windblown and a little damp under the arms.

Senior runner Jon Grey turned in another top performance Friday. Grey raced to a fifth place overall showing at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships with a career best time of 13:46.12 in the 5000-m event.
Grey’s place earned him his second All-American award.
According to Tribeathletics.com, Grey held back early to remain in the main pack. He started making his move with about 2400-m remaining and improved from 14th to 7th over the next 800-m.
Grey’s time ranks second-best all-time for a College competitor on an indoor track.

“You said that there is still good in your soul. Then prove it.”
Sayid has spent his entire life attempting to do the right things in order to redeem himself for the horrible torture he inflicted upon people while serving for the Iraqi Republican Guard. And, apparently, he’ll spend his flash-sideways life doing the same thing. Problem is, circumstances keep arising where killing or torturing someone is (or he is told is) the right thing.

Your Student Assembly unanimously passed the Potentially Necessary eBallot Upgrade Act, the Financial Transparency Act and the Necessary Airport Shuttle Funding Act II during Tuesday night’s meeting.
The eBallot Upgrade Act does nothing to upgrade our voting system, but instead allocates $400 from the off-campus account to pay for the e-mails that will be sent to every student for the Spring SA elections giving them a randomized password allowing them to log on to the eBallot site.
