“Community” was in rare form on Thursday, with some sights we haven’t even seen before. I was particularly excited to see Jeff as a second-tier character, out of the limelight for a good chunk of the episode. We didn’t have that sequence like we often do of “I’m a tool, being a tool isn’t working out for me, now I’m less of a tool.” He was even a little pitiful, living out of his car! I liked seeing him at the bottom and not trying to be better than everyone else for an episode.
I’m glad there’s a very obvious connection that’s going to develop between Annie and Troy. Whenever they get together, it’ll be cute. Mostly just because Annie’s adorable.
Vaughan was really funny with his hateful, childish songs. I didn’t like him when he was dating Brita. But, now I do! Also, I really liked that Pierce had a positive place in a group, as the keyboardist for Vaughan’s band. Pierce is sometimes too pitiful for my tastes. I understand he’s supposed to be a washed-up old guy, but enough is enough.
I’ve got a soft spot for Abed. He’s so well-meaning, and he’s a nice, content guy. I enjoy his presence on the show. At first, I thought he was just a deadpan straight-man who had Asperger’s Syndrome, but he’s actually much more interesting. Most of the characters have a lot of depth to them, and I enjoy seeing them open up little by little. I’m still waiting for Annie and Brita — I’m sure they’ll be good!
Quote of the Day:
Vaughan: You’re the exact opposite of an anti-oxidant. Yeah. Psh. I got band practice. Lates.
Brita: Can’t we still be friends? Isn’t the word ‘later’ short enough?
That’s all for this week. Lates.
