Editor-in-Chief: Mona Garimella ’27
Mona (she/her) is a government and psychology major from Richmond, Virginia. She hopes to continue the paper’s role of amplifying underrepresented voices and inspiring meaningful public discourse. Mona is also involved in research and volunteers at The Haven, a confidential campus resource for those impacted by gender-based violence. In her free time, she likes to browse New Yorker articles, walk with friends in CW and listen to podcasts.

Maddie (she/her) is an economics student from Chevy Chase, Maryland. This year, she looks forward to highlighting unique student and faculty perspectives through profiles and longer-form articles. Outside of The Flat Hat, she is involved in The Monitor Journal of International Studies and Chi Omega. In her free time, Maddie enjoys running, attending cycling classes at the Rec and finding new study spots on campus.

Megan (she/her) is an English major from Chantilly, VA. She is interested in reporting on arts, culture, and student life. Outside of The Flat Hat, she is involved in the STAIR lab and Club Fencing and assists with communications for the Office of the Arts.
Digital Media Editor: Kylie Totten ’28
Kylie (she/her) is from Trumbull, Connecticut and is a double major in government and environmental policy. When she’s not playing with cameras, you can find her wandering around campus bothering friends and fellow staff members. Outside the paper, she’s involved with Pi Beta Phi, League of Women Voters, the Parks and Ecotherapy Research Lab and W&M Phonathon.

Molly (she/her) is a history and Hispanic studies double major from Chicago, Illinois. She is also a member of the Innocence Club, which advocates for criminal justice reform. In her free time, she enjoys reading, attending workout classes and spending time with friends.

Ben (he/him) is a government major from Richmond, Virginia. He hopes to create a welcoming environment for interns to develop their journalism skills and become involved with The Flat Hat. Outside of the paper, he is a member of Kappa Delta Rho, and enjoys playing the drums and guitar.

Nate (he/him) is a sophomore Elementary Education major from Falls Church, Va. He serves as the Copy Chief for both Flat Hat newspaper and magazine, and is excited to help grow the program this year. Aside from The Flat Hat, he volunteers for various education related programs in the area. He loves to read fantasy books, listen to folk music and go for hikes.

Robin (she/her) is a government major from Spotsylvania, Virginia. Aside from The Flat Hat, she hosts a weekly radio show, is a member of Kappa Delta and works at the Reeder Media Center. In her free time she enjoys perfecting her Letterboxd, annotating novels and loitering at local thrift stores. She hopes to use her platform at The Flat Hat to uplift diverse voices on campus!

Sachi (she/her) is from Hockessin, Delaware. She is majoring in mathematics and may also major in history. Her favorite parts of stories are doing interviews and working on her writing skills through articles. She hopes to participate in a Flat Hat investigation in the future. Rebecca Fuchs (she/they, they/she) ’26 is a transfer student from Rockville, Maryland majoring in public policy and minoring in environmental science and sustainability (ENSP). As associate news editor, they write and firmly believe every story can be improved with just one more question. When they’re not in the newsroom, Rebecca works on poetry, wanders local trails and confidently whispers the wrong bird species under their breath (before posting cute bird pics to the Bird Club group chat).Â

She is on her second year as an associate standards and practices editor. Outside of journalism, she is a member of Acropolis, secretary of Rhythm and Taps, treasurer of the Minority Pre-Law Association and a violist in the Women of World War 2 musical production.
