After piloting the Tribe to 20 wins and the third seed in the upcoming CAA tournament, William and Mary Head Coach Tony Shaver was named CAA coach of the year Thursday evening. It was the third time he has received the honor. He previously won the award in 2007 and 2008.
Senior guard David Schneider was named to the All-CAA second team after averaging 15.8 points per game for the College. Schneider was also presented with the Dean Ehlers Leadership Award, recognizing the senior’s integrity, sportsmanship and scholarship.
Sophomore guard Quinn McDowell also gained recognition, making the All-CAA third team for the first time after shooting just over 50 percent from the field this season.
