Williamsburg to increase campus trolley coverage

The Williamsburg Area Transit Authority has announced the addition of four new stops to the trolley route along Jamestown Road.

Beginning Mar. 15, the trolley will stop at the College of William and Mary Undergraduate Admissions office, across from Phi Beta Kappa Memorial Hall at Indian Springs Road, Cary Street and the Miller Hall parking lot.

“The extended short-trip schedule is being added in response to requests from the public, and to meet increasing ridership needs in the areas immediately adjacent to the College,” WATA Executive Director Mark Rickards said in a press release.

On-campus locations already covered by WATA include Zable Stadium parking lot and the Ludwell Apartments.

The trolley’s hours will not change and will run 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, until 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sundays.

The service will continue to be free with a College ID.
