Update: Great Wolf Lodge breaks world record

It’s official: The College of William and Mary now has company on the list of Williamsburg institutions that have held world record titles. Great Wolf Lodge has broken the Guinness Book world record for longest distance traveled on water slides in a 24-hour period.

More than 45,000 people slid 3,593 miles at the eleven sister resort properties across the nation. At the Williamsburg Great Wolf Lodge, more than 300 miles were travelled.

The event raised funds for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of America, $30,000 of which will be donated to a local Williamsburg chapter.
