William and Mary School of Education professor Kyung-Hee Kim is quoted in the latest edition of Newsweek, available July 19.
Kim analyzed 300,000 Torrance Test of Creative Thinking results of adults and children across the United States. According to Kim, the outcomes indicated that Americans have become less creative since the early 1990s.
Kim pointed to the most serious decline being students between kindergarden and sixth grade. To solve this crisis, she suggests implementing a creative problem solving program.
