Vasold resigns as SA Secretary of Health and Safety

Jessee Vasold ’11 resigned as Secretary of Health and Safety for the Student Assembly in letter dated Oct. 27, which was released earlier today.

In the letter, Vasold cites disagreement with the potential passage of the Impeachment Act, sponsored by Zach Marcos ’12. The bill would enable the SA Senate to impeach appointed members of the SA executive branch.

“I strongly oppose the Impeachment Act because it greatly reduces the separation of powers of the three branches of our student government,” Vasold said in the letter. “The bill … neglects the fact that some members of the Senate are appointed and therefore cannot be impeached.”

Vasold went on to say that personal matters also influenced the decision.
