Former Virginia governors and senate hopefuls George Allen (R) and Tim Kaine (D) campaigned on the peninsula Tuesday, the Daily Press reported. Allen met with small business owners in Gloucester County while Kaine met with veterans in Newport News. Both men are competing for the seat being vacated by Sen. Jim Webb, D- Va., as the senator intends to retire this year.
