The 42 larger-than-life busts of U.S. leaders in President’s Park in Williamsburg, better known as the Big Heads, may be going up for sale. According to The Virginian Pilot, Walmart has interest in buying the 10 acres that the park now occupies, and many locals, who think that the busts are “tacky,” support the sale. As for the Big Heads, each is priced at $100,000.
For eight years, the presidents have seen small crowds and endured intense ridicule, including protests, from the Water Park’s neighbors.
For a few, however, the park stirs up national pride.
“I almost felt like I should salute every one,” said Shirley Poe, a tourist from Swartz Creek, Mich.
