Men’s Soccer: Hoxie named to Top Drawer Soccer Team of Year

Senior forward Andrew Hoxie was named to the Top Drawer Soccer Men’s College Soccer First Team of the Season Thursday. Hoxie was one of only five forwards named to the squad.

The senior finished the year with 10 goals and 12 assists, leading the CAA in both categories garnering the CAA’s Player of the Year award as well as First Team All-CAA.

Hoxie ended the season tied for fourth nationally in assists per game and 11th in points per game. The Tribe went 9-0 in games in which he scored at least one goal.

Hoxie was one of four players from the CAA to be honored by Top Drawer Soccer. Etienne Boulanger of the University of North Carolina-Wilmington was named to the All-Rookie Second Team. Additionally, Richard Martinez of Hofstra and Indy Smith of UNCW were awarded Honorable Mention.

Hoxie ends his career at the College ranked 7th all-time in points (92), 9th in goals (35) and 10th in assists (22).

The College’s (13-5-1) year closed in the semifinal round of the CAA Tournament in a 2-1 overtime loss to Northeastern. Hoxie was named to the CAA’s All-Tournament team along with junior midfielder Nat Baako.

Hoxie plans on graduating in December and will attempt to play professional soccer in the MLS.
