James City has widened its online presence to Twitter, the popular mini-blogging Web site. County staff will use the Twitter account “to provide timely, quick and concise information” to residents who choose to “follow” them, according to a statement released Monday.
County staff intend to use the micro-blogging website as a conduit for receiving resident feedback on local government operations.
James City already uses both YouTube and the social-networking site Facebook to share information with residents and receive public input.
