William and Mary head coach Jimmye Laycock announced Tuesday that sophomore quarterback Mike Graham will not play this weekend against Delaware, due to an illness.

“We will miss having Michael Graham on the field Saturday,” Laycock said in a statement. “But, the next man in line will need to step up to the challenge. I am confident that either Michael Paulus or Brent Caprio is capable of providing us with great leadership.”

Laycock has not yet named a replacement starter, as senior backup Mike Paulus and sophomore Brent Caprio will battle for the starting job in practice this week.

Paulus began the season as the starter, but Graham eventually rose through the ranks to become the starter. Caprio has made several appearances this year, and made his only career start last season.
