According to the Virginia Gazette, the Virginia General Assembly passed a bill that would allow 195 retail ABC stores to open on Sundays after 1 p.m., in addition to the 131 stores that are already permitted to operate Sunday. Estimates state that the new legislation could add anywhere from $2.5 to $5 million in profit and taxes to the state budget.
