Cuccinelli Recuses from Star Scientifics Lawsuit

Republican Virginia Attorney Gen. Ken Cuccinelli announced Friday he was appointing an outside counsel to handle a tax lawsuit brought against the state by Star Scientific, a struggling former tobacco company turned dietary supplement maker, in which he owns more than $10,000 in stock. The attorney general had been under pressure from Democrats to recuse his office from the case due to personal conflicts of interest, according to the Washington Post.
