Republicans on the Economy: Do nothing … again.

“The fundamental business of the country, that is the production and distribution of commodities, is on a sound and prosperous basis.”

Sound familiar? No, it’s not John McCain, but it is taken directly from the republican economic playbook. Those words came from the mouth of President Herbert Hoover on October 25, 1929, the day after the stock market crash that led to the Great Depression.

Yikes.
