A Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday showed President Barack Obama defeating former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney in a hypothetical election, 47 percent to 43 percent. Obama’s disapproval rating in Virginia remains at 49 percent, and 46 percent of polled Virginians believe he does not deserve to be re-elected. Obama was the first Democratic presidential candidate in 44 years to win the state of Virginia when he was elected in 2008.
