Douglas Pons announces City Council re-election bid

Douglas Pons announced his bid for Williamsburg City Council reelection Thursday, as reported by the Williamsburg-Yorktown Daily.

Pons joins Scott Foster ’10 J.D. ’14 in the running for the May 6 election. Both are looking to be elected for a second term on the council. The deadline to file to be on the ballot is Tuesday.

Pons owns the Knights Inn on York Street and joined the council in 2010 with the second most votes.

“I want to run again because the [current] council has worked really well together for the past four years,” Pons said to the Williamsburg-Yorktown Daily. “I think we’ve made some progress on some issues like density in the downtown area and the overall business climate.”
