Thursday, Sept. 24, students at the College of William and Mary voted in representatives for the Student Assembly Senate. The Class of 2030 voted for a class president and four student Senators. Additionally, due to vacancies caused by the departures of two incumbent Senators, the Class of 2029 voted for two Senators.
Class of 2029 Senate
The Class of 2029 Senate election was uncontested. Nate Acklie ’29 and Isaiah Jimenez ’29 were elected, with Acklie receiving 240 votes and Jimenez receiving 192 votes.
Class of 2030 Senate
Five candidates ran for four total seats in the Class of 2030 senate delegation.
The four students elected were Paige Goble ’30 with 422 votes, Aryan Garg ’30 with 370 votes, Nicole Rodriguez Montiel ’30 with 355 votes and Nicholas Buchanan ’30 with 282 votes.
Class of 2030 President
The Class of 2030 presidential election saw nine candidates. The election took eight rounds of ranked-choice voting to determine an overall winner.
Peniel Ogunde ’30 won the election with 223 final-round votes. Josh Brown ’30 received 206 final-round votes and came in second.
